Dann B. (Sekhet Bast Ra) - The Pentagram as a Symbol of Initiation:

The Pentagram is among the oldest symbols used by people; the earliest examples predate the use of the cross.  It has been used to symbolize not only a human being, but also the very highest divinity.  As such, it forms a roadmap of the journey from the world of the human to the world of the gods, otherwise known as the path of initiation.  We will discuss how the pentagram figures in myths of initiation, and how those myths and the symbol of the Pentagram itself provide a formula for initiation whose potency is eternal.

Day  (Sage Grove Coven) - The Great Mother symbolism in Pre-historic Europe

Until recently, people kissed Mother Earth as if she were a human mother, in the morning and in the evening, before Christian prayers were said. You could kiss Mother Earth... you could touch the Goddess as a stone, or hear her as a cuckoo. ..She diminished only in the mid-20th century, with the infiltration of technology and political upheavals. The Great Mother symbolism is all around us - all we need is to understand it.

Daily bits of wisdom

Those of our way are kind to all creatures, for hurtful thoughts are quite draining and are not worth the loss of energy. Misery is self-created. So too, is joy, so create joy and disdain misery and unhappiness. And this is within your power. ~ Scott Cunningham ~
