Q: Why an Oklahoma City Pagan Pride Day? There is already one in Tulsa.

A: The Pagan Pride Day in Tulsa is a wonderful event that already has a tradition behind it, and us, as a pagan community are very grateful for the organizers to put up such a wonderful event. The problem is that, due to the distance and the difficult economic situation we are all confronted with, most pagans out of the Tulsa and North-East Oklahoma area aren't able to attend. The Oklahoma City Pagan Pride Day will make pagans of communities in the Central, West, South-Western Oklahoma able to attend this type of event as well.

Q: Will it be an indoors or outdoors event?

A: The Oklahoma City Pagan Pride Day 2010 will be an indoors event. The 209 was outdoors, and we hope to be able to have it outdoors in 2011 as well, maybe a two-days event one.

Q: Does this event have an admission fee?

A: No. The  Oklahoma City Pagan Pride Day is a free admission event. We only ask you to bring one or two non-perishable food items for our Food Drive, and/or some clothing or other item donation for charity.

Q: If it is an admission free event, how is it sponsored?

A: The Oklahoma City Pagan Pride Day is sponsored by the greater Pagan community. There is a donation button if you want to make a donation, or if you cannot make payments online, contact someone in our Committee and we will try to find a solution to meet you or have you mail your contribution. We have donation jars at: Nature's Treasures in Midwest City, Ravenfeathers in Norman, Sage and Sandalwood in Norman. Our heartfelt thank you's for these wonderful ladies who are supporting the event.

Q: Who are the organizers?

A: The Oklahoma City Pagan Pride Day is a community effort. Many people, groups and organizations in the Central Oklahoma area and beyond have come together to work on putting it together. There is not a single person or group/organization that is behind it, but the greater Pagan community.

Q: Can I help in any way?

A: You are most welcome. We need volunteers to put this together.  Please fill in a submission form so you can register as a volunteer.

Q: Will there be vendors? If so, and I am a vendor myself, how can I register and what will be the conditions?

A: Yes, we will have vendors. Submission forms for vendors are up on this website. Nevertheless, you will have to provide yourselves with all necessary permits and licenses in case you are vending food. The fees are also posted. If you wish to download the Vendor contract, you will have to register and create an account on this website.

Q: What about entertainment?

A: We are in the process of contacting our community's bards, singers, drummers and dancers. As it is an admission free event, it will be a volunteer effort in order to promote the Pagan Pride, but a tip jar will be in order, as well as other facilities. Please check our "participation information" section. Also, please fill in a submission form for entertainers so we can count you in.

Q: What other activities will be there?

A: Please check our activity list, that is permanently updated with the latest news.

Daily bits of wisdom

Those of our way are kind to all creatures, for hurtful thoughts are quite draining and are not worth the loss of energy. Misery is self-created. So too, is joy, so create joy and disdain misery and unhappiness. And this is within your power. ~ Scott Cunningham ~
