Statement of purpose

Pagan Pride Day is a day of unity for Pagan individuals and families to gather and celebrate the joy of what we believe, how we live, and how we want to affect a better tomorrow for each other, our children and our grandchildren.  Pagan Pride Day is a day of coming together to celebrate and demonstrate to each other and the community at large the contributions of our skills, the preservation of our folk ways, art, music, literature, histories, and the legacies we wish to leave for the younger generation.  Pagan Pride Day is inter-generational. From the youngest newborn to the eldest Sage, we gather to take pride in one the other, we gather in respect and in wonderment of the great diversity of paths, traditions, hearths, covens, tuaths, and solitaries which enrich and enoble our presence here in Oklahoma. We promote understanding and non-discrimination on the basis of religion, faith, race, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual preferences or disabilities.

Knowing that many in our larger community do not understand nor know how to tolerate us, Pagan Pride Day will demonstrate to the larger community in Oklahoma our numbers, our contributions of expertise, our commitment, our similarities, and the vital role we play in the Oklahoma community at large.  We are public servants, doctors, skilled tradespersons, bankers, laborers, students, stay at home Dads and soccer Moms. We are the elderly, the ill, the volunteers, the wealthy, and the homeless.  We are taxpayers, homeowners, tenants and some whose homes have been recently foreclosed.  We too are Oklahoma and we respond by simply living, loving and sharing with one another, a day of Pagan pride which we hope will traverse the Wheel of the Year til next we meet.
